Overtime Should Not Be Normal in a Computer Business
In business, there will always be days when extra effort is needed. There are moments when we need to extend our time, finish urgent orders, solve customer concerns, prepare deliveries, check units, or complete a commitment we promised to our clients.

In business, there will always be days when extra effort is needed.
There are moments when we need to extend our time, finish urgent orders, solve customer concerns, prepare deliveries, check units, or complete a commitment we promised to our clients.
That is part of business.
But I always believe that overtime should not become the normal lifestyle of the team.
Every overtime should become a lesson.
Because when overtime happens too often, it is no longer just about hard work. It may be a sign that something in the business needs to be improved.
Maybe the planning was not clear.
Maybe the communication was delayed.
Maybe the workload was not properly assigned.
Maybe the process was not followed.
Maybe the system is still dependent on people fixing problems at the last minute.
A hardworking team can save the day, and we should always appreciate that.
But as business owners and leaders, we should not abuse the commitment of our people.
The goal is not just to make the team work harder.
The goal is to build a better system so the team can work smarter.
Overtime is not always bad. Sometimes, it is necessary.
But if overtime becomes normal, we need to pause and ask:
What should we improve?
What should we document?
What should we plan better next time?
What process should we fix so this will not happen again?
Because a committed team can save the day.
But a better system can save the team.
Always remember: work smarter, not just harder.
